French toast is basically a dish made of slice bread which are soaked in an eggs mixture, and then lightly fried to a crispy, golden brown of wonderfulness. There are a couple of variations over the years, such as a maple syrup topping, berries with cream or with some delicate icing sugar.
- 2 slices of bread
- 1 small egg
- 30 ml milk
- 2 inch butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 2 tbs maple syrup
1. Beat an egg on a flat plate. Add in milk, salt and cinnamon powder. Mix well.
2. Melt butter over a low heat. Dip the bread both sides lightly on the egg mix. When the butter melts completely, put in the bread and start frying.
3. After 2-3 minutes of frying, flip it over. The bread should be a little brown and crispy now. Fry the other side for another 2-3 minutes until it also turn brown.
4. Take the bread out and your French toast is now ready to be served. You may eat it by itself, sprinkle some icing sugar, or put maple syrup on it.
