Welcome to the page where cooking is being made easy for everyone! I am a graduate student researching on cancer therapy in Tokyo and I cook everyday as a hobby! As a researcher where time is never enough, I improvise new ways of cooking all kinds of cuisines using affordable and easily available utensils, ingredients and spices in a time-efficient manner. There is three main emphasis I have in all my recipes, namely:
“Everything in Tokyo is so expensive!” is probably something you have heard throughout your life. Well, it might be true. But trust me when I said I have seen worse places. Anyway, all the ingredients used here are mostly affordable stuff from a student viewpoint. I often look for convincing alternatives if I ever came across any expensive ingredients.
Availability is always a big issue when it comes to cooking your favourite home dishes. Imagine lemongrass, asam jawa, kaffir leaves etc. Where on earth are you going to find them in a foreign land?? Similar to what I mentioned in my first point, I will introduce how and where to get those items and what alternatives do you have if that particular ingredients isn’t available.
I woke up at 7 am everyday and went for a 30 minutes jog in a park nearby. I then spend the next 90 minutes washing up, making breakfast and lunchbox for the day. So yes, I would show you how to make some of your favourite dishes with so little hassle that you could ever imagine!
You may have probably heard of this over and over again, but the truth is cooking REALLY isn’t hard at all. All it takes is the courage and willingness to use a knife and handle a frying pan. This might sound hard to believe, but follow my humble advices and give yourself a try for like a couple of weeks and I am sure you would come to realize cooking can actually be a no-brainer!
